Dawn also says that ‘I now feel much more equipped and confident to ask for more at work, or to apply for roles where I can utilise the skills I have learnt. I feel I have developed as a person too feeling more assertive and confident in myself and my capabilities’.

Dawn completed her Apprenticeship in October 2023, and when looking back on her journey, commented that: ‘the training I have completed has opened the door to new occupations I never thought I could aim for especially at my age’.

For those who may be considering an Apprenticeship, Dawn says: ‘go for it because you have nothing to lose! I would also say to plan your work and keep to the schedule and you will not go wrong. Also, no one is ever too old to start something new and develop themselves for the better’.
