This huge event sees apprentices from across the country competing to become the best in their discipline.

Elliott just missed out on a medal placement for CNC milling but Kris came out on top and brought the gold Medal in CNC turning. The quality and standard of the work they produced for the competition saw both of them qualify for Squad UK, the Squad will now undertake an intensive two year training and selection process with the hope of earning a place in the prestigious Team UK for Kazan 2019. Ben was Highly Commended in the Sheet Metal Technology category.

Kris said: “I didn’t think that I’d done well enough to win as the competition as is so tough, but I was so happy when they announced my name as the gold winner. I can’t wait to start training for Squad UK”

Kris and Elliott’s Training Manager, Alan Emerton, at FortVale said “Their success is a huge testament to the effort and time they have both put into their apprenticeship and preparation for WorldSkills. Myself and everyone at FortVale are so incredibly proud of their achievements.”

Training 2000 have had many years of success with apprentices competing at WorldSkills, and once again we are very proud of their achievements.
