Financing your HTQ

Funding is available for you to apply for to cover your course fees, so you won’t have to pay your tuition fees upfront. You won’t have to start paying back your loan until you are well established and earning above a certain amount. Repayments of loans are based on your future income, not what you borrow.

Higher Technical Qualifications starting in 2024 will be charged at £7,500.

Applying for Student Finance

The easiest way to apply for a Student Loan is to visit Apply online for student finance.

You can apply for:

  • Tuition Fee Loans
  • Maintenance Loans

Once you have read the information on the Apply online for student finance webpage, follow the steps from checking you are eligible to applying. You'll need to create a student finance account if you're a new student or sign into an existing account if you're a returning student.

Additional Course Costs

Please note that whilst completing your course, you may have some additional costs to be aware of. For example, you will need equipment for studying (pens, pencils, a scientific calculator, A4 notebooks) and you may incur travel expenses during your HTQ work placement. Professional body registrations are optional.
