Training 2000 donates to Blackburn Food Bank in time for Christmas
Local training provider Training 2000 donates almost 400kg of items to Blackburn Food Bank with the help of staff, learners and employers.
Award winning Training 2000 has been established for over 50 years and are a large Group Training Association. In 2017, Training 2000 became part of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).
Blackburn Food Bank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in the local area.
"We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK."

With the help of their staff, learners and employers, Training 2000 donated just shy of 400kg of food items to Blackburn Food Bank.
Two current apprentices James and Roman helped Training 2000 staff to load the van at their Blackburn site and once at the Food Bank, Training 2000 staff and Refresco Traineeship learner Ibrahim helped to unload all of the donations.
Training 2000 have been blown away by the support received from everyone including staff, learners and ten of our incredible employers! The amazing employers to donate to the cause are; Lockwood GP Surgery, Pneumatrol, Totally Wicked UK, Kinetic Law, Setco, CWR Scaffolding, Cardboard Box Company, Electra Trucks, Baldwin Technical Services and A&G Precision.
Training 2000 and Blackburn Food Bank want to thank everyone for their efforts in making this collection possible and urge people to continue donating throughout the festive period and beyond.
