Our most recent Sponsored Apprentice
At Training 2000, we take pride in recognising hard work and rewarding it wherever possible, and Summer is a perfect example of that commitment. After excelling through our apprenticeship application process, Summer began her role at Riggs Auto Pack, impressing our recruitment team from the beginning.
In 2025, Summer suddenly lost her grandad. He had always supported her journey, even helping her get to and from Training 2000. After his passing, travel became a challenge, adding extra pressure during an already emotional time. Just two weeks later, Summer received an unexpected call telling her that she had been selected as our sponsored apprentice. She saw it as a sign from her grandad, and it meant more to her than anyone could understand.
With her sponsorship funding, Summer was able to buy her first car, a 2015 Citroen C3, giving her independence and the ability to continue pursuing her training.
Summer was open from the start about not passing her maths exam at school. She knew she would need to put in the extra work to achieve her goals, and she did exactly that, resitting and passing her maths exam, and then more recently achieving an overall MERIT in her most recent engineering assessments.
Since starting her apprenticeship at Training 2000, Summer has seen her confidence grow significantly. She’s become more comfortable speaking with others, more confident asking questions, and overall feels much happier within herself.
Summer’s advice for any aspiring engineering apprentice is:
“Try your hardest and put in the effort.”
