Our welding principles course covers the practical and theoretical aspects of welding. Method of assessment: • Observation • Questioning

Description

This course will cover:

  • Safely set electrical conditions for MMA Welding and understand the principles
  • Understand the importance of selecting the correct welding electrodes
  • Identify weld faults and corrective action
  • Adequate candidate practice on all the above mentioned skills
  • Practice in SAFELY using TIG welding equipment
  • The correct method of setting up the equipment
  • The correct method of striking and breaking the arc
  • Depositing single weld runs in the flat position
  • Setting up and welding Tee joints and outside corner
  • The identification of common welding faults and corrective action
  • Adequate candidate practice on all the above mentioned skills
  • All points relating to the safe use of MIG Welding equipment
  • Understand the basic principles of Inert Gas Welding machinery
  • Deposit a single Butt Weld
  • Set up and weld Tee Joints and outside corner
  • Adequate candidate practice on all above mentioned skills
