Houghton’s working with Training 2000

June 27, 2017

3 apprentices and 1 tutor working in the engineering workshop

Here is Houghton’s Service Engineer, Danny Karen providing our first year machining apprentices with valuable knowledge on coolant care.

Jez Rowson, Account Manager for Houghton’s says “The machine tools in the apprentice Workshop have all being thoroughly cleaned out and re-filled with HOCUT 4940 @ 6.0% concentration. HOCUT 4940 is part of Houghton’s new “4000 series” and it has recently been approved for use on Pratt & Whitney aerospace engine components and has achieved Category 3 Rolls Royce approval. The coolant condition will now be monitored for concentration, pH, tramp oil and bacteria on a scheduled basis by our Service Engineer. The introduction of this product and service helps to ensure that Training 2000 is fully compliant with all HSE and REACh requirements with the added benefit of providing Training 2000  learners with an excellent insight into all aspects of coolant management & control.”
