Alfie began his Fabrication and Welding Engineering Apprenticeship at Althams Fabrication when he was 19 after hearing about Training 2000 at school.

When asked about why he chose an Apprenticeship, he said ” You learn whilst doing practical things that will help you to develop your skills and you’re not always in the classroom.”

“The Apprenticeship opened my eyes because I am currently doing something I didn’t really know a lot about before.”

Alfie has benefited from his learning as it has helped him to develop in various ways such as working towards a goal, developing a good work ethic, ensuring he maintains a good attendance and time keeping.

He said, “Once I finish my qualification I hope to stay at my current workplace to develop my skills further and progress.”
