We are a Glass bottle printing company based in Simonstone and due to growth, we are looking for a Trainee Production and Maintenance Technician to join us as an Apprentice undertaking the Level 3 Engineering Technician (Mechatronics Maintenance) in collaboration with Training 2000.

Core responsibility, qualifications and level of experience:

The core purpose of the role is to be responsible for setting printing machines and palletising equipment, as well as undertaking maintenance and carrying out preventative maintenance duties on all machinery. You will also upgrade worn out parts and assist with any machine breakdowns however, the main of the role is centred on setting machines ready for production.
You will :

  • Be able to work to routines to ensure the necessary setup and maintenance input to achieve production targets to maximum output, with minimum of stoppages
  • Be able to take verbal instruction and perform calmly under pressure and communicate issues and problems in a clear and concise manner
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Be able to work logically and plan a task prior to starting (ensure tools, screens, Inks and glass is available).
  • Have an eye for detail, we work to millimetres with a zero tolerance, recording your setting sheets/work, and being consistent
  • Put forward suggestions and ideas to management which could improve quality and/or productivity.

Training to be provided

  • L2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing (Foundation Competence)
  • L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competencies) Mechatronics Maintenance Technician
  • L3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
