This vacancy is for an Trainee Dental Nurse based in Burnley, Lancashire.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake valuable work experience whilst gaining on the job qualifications.

It comprises of a Level 3 Standard including a Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing followed by the end–point assessment (EPA). Within the Dental Nursing Pathway, the standards are split into three key areas at the end of your apprenticeship, you will have the knowledge and skills listed below:

KNOWLEDGE – THE DENTAL NURSE WILL HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Dental and regional anatomy

  • Respiratory and circulatory systems

  • Health promotion and disease prevention

  • Transmission of infectious diseases and their prevention

  • Materials , equipment and resources

  • Medical Emergencies

  • Legislative compliance and regulatory requirements

  • The Dental team and GDC guidelines

  • Communication

  • Self–Management

SKILLS – THE DENTAL NURSE WILL BE ABLE TO:

  • Advise patients on oral health maintenance

  • Prepare and maintain the clinical environment before, during and after dental procedures

  • Recognise and comply with systems and processes to support safe patient care

  • Put patients? interests first and act to protect them

  • Act without discrimination, show integrity and be trustworthy at all times

  • Manage own performance and development

  • Communicate with the dental team in relation to the direct care of the individual

  • Advise patients on oral health maintenance

  • Prepare and maintain the clinical environment before, during and after dental procedures
