This vacancy is for an Apprentice Toolmaker and Tool & Die Technician based in Simonstone.
Toolmaker and Tool & Die Technicians are predominantly involved in the highly skilled, complex and specialist detailed work of manufacturing and maintaining the engineering tooling used to produce components, products and assemblies.
As an apprentice toolmaker you will be trained to produce precision tools and workholding devices.
During your apprenticeship you will learn how to manufacture and assemble new tooling and how to re–furbish worn tooling. The tools you will make are used to cut, shape and form metals and other materials to manufacture our range of products.
You will become skilled, not only in conventional milling, turning, grinding and assembly. You will develop skills in programming, setting and operation our state of the art CNC multi axis machining centres.

Training to be provided
Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence).
Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Toolmaker, Tool & Die Maintenence.
Level 3 Diploma or extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge).
Functional skills in English, Maths (if not already achieved).
