This vacancy is for an Steel Erector based in Fleetwood, Lancashire.

The vacancy is an opportunity for someone who is interested in pursuing a career in Engineering. If successful the apprenticeship could consist of up to 4 years learning.
The first year will be based full time (Mon–Fri) at Training 2000 Ltd in the Engineering workshop where the apprentice will gain an insight into Engineering, and start to develop new skills relevant to the tasks they will be completing once they return to their respective employer. As well as this they will also begin their Further Education course (BTEC Diploma) which will be 1 day a week classroom based learning.
The Engineering Steel Erector role encompasses the installation and dismantling of the capital plant steel infrastructure which makes up engineering and construction projects, these operations are by nature complex and non–repetitive.
The construction is achieved through the use of static and mobile moving and lifting equipment and accessories and as the assembly of the structure progresses, can involve the use of additional specialist access equipment. Erectors will use powered as well as non–powered hand tools to assemble the structure, this can also require the fixing of metal decking, safety netting and edge rails to facilitate safe working.
Applicants will require a high level of physical fitness and be comfortable with living and working away from home after the first year of training at Training 2000.
The first year will require travelling to Training 2000 facilities in Blackburn. Transport for which may be provided and fully funded by the company, in addition to a substantial learners wage where you will earn while you learn. Your career will entail working both outdoors and at height. A willingness to embrace these circumstances and to have a high regard for safety and respect is essential for meeting the company expectations.

Engineering Construction Erectors often work in hazardous environments such as working at height, over water and in confined spaces.

- Installation of capital plant steel infrastructure
- Dismantling of capital plant steel infrastructure
- Using static and mobile moving and lifting equipment to progress the structure
- Using powered and non–powered hand tools
- Fixing metal decking, safety netting and edge rails to facilitate safe working
Training to be provided
- Diploma in Erecting Engineering Construction Capital Plant Steel Structures L3
- Diploma in Engineering L3
- Functional Skills in English and Maths if not already achieved
