This vacancy is for a Junior Infrastructure Technician based in Darwen, Lancashire. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to undertake valuable work experience whilst gaining on the job qualifications.

We are an established company based in Darwen Blackburn operating in the Audio Visual /technology Industry . We are looking to recruit a Junior AV Technician . This role is hands–on and will suit a young person ideally who has just left school /college or has been made redundant recently due to Covid 19 , this person should have a keen interest in technology with practical abilities and doesn’t mind travelling and working away from home.

Our customer base ranges from the Education sector ( schools / colleges ) to commercial sector ( restaurants, retail outlets etc. )The ideal candidate would have computer and IT skills keen to learn all aspects of an installation project which includes , networking , cabling , software implementations and installation methods .Job specific training will be provided where necessary.
Although initially employed as a Junior AV technician could move into a more specialized role , once training and skill development has taken place .We must stress that as our customer base is spread across the UK this position will entail travel, to be discussed . The trips can be short half day/ one day trips or could be longer, although not usually longer than 2 days .The job can be very rewarding and does give an unprecedented opportunity to the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities they will learn is :
  • Installation methods for all Alpha Digitals products – such as Digital signage , interactive screens .
  • Onsite maintenance and service/ repair calls .
  • Represent the company in a positive & professional manner
  • Provide instruction & training to clients
  • Health and safety on site .
  • Working as part of an overall technology team .
  • Developing solutions to projects .
  • Working in the warehouse with more senior members of the team
  • Assisting with deliveries and stock rotation.
Previous experience:
  • Computer and It literate.

Training to be provided

As part of the Apprenticeship, the candidate will participate in 5 knowledge modules.

These modules are:
  • Networking and Architecture (1 of 4 possible unit choices)
  • Mobile and Operating Systems (1 of 7 possible unit choices)
  • Cloud Services (1 of 5 possible unit choices)
  • Coding and logic (1 of 2 possible unit choices)
  • Business Process (1 of 3 unit choices)

The choices will reflect the knowledge content of the job role.
