Apprentice engineers will be trained in the service and maintenance of fire or intruder systems. The role involves on site visits liaising with the end user to carry out the routine maintenance of their fire or security systems.
During service visits, you will be working alongside your buddy, who will be an experienced install or maintenance engineer, you will gain exposure to a variety of Life Protection Systems and gain an understanding of the processes required to complete an installation or complete routine maintenance.
The systems you will work on will vary in type range from small to large complex multi–panel networked systems. Once you have a good understanding of all the install or service elements and completed your apprenticeship you will then move to our install or service team to further improve your knowledge Life Protection Systems. On completion of your apprenticeship, you will also be required to join the callout rota which is currently 1 week on call every 8 weeks.

Training to be provided
In house training; both theory and practical, will be a good blend of onsite time with your buddy and this will be further supported with your apprenticeship. This will be over a 48–month period where you will complete an EAL Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification 60173452 apprenticeship which covers installation and commissioning of Fire Systems. By the end of this apprenticeship you will have satisfied the requirements for registration as Engineering Technician (EngTech) by the Engineering Council. This is a Level 3 apprenticeship, EAL Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification 60173452.
