This vacancy is for an Engineering Mechatronics Apprentice based in Blackburn.

Mechatronics Maintenance Technicians ensure that plant and equipment perform to the required standard to facilitate production targets regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost within High Value Manufacturing environments.

We are looking to recruit an Apprentice in September to join our team.

The training for this role will be delivered in Blackburn for the first year based at Training 2000, so please do bear this in–mind when you apply.

The apprentice will be training towards becoming a mechanically biased multi skilled engineer, while training he will be working alongside fully trained multi skilled engineers, his duties will be maintaining plant and production items both mechanically and electrically.

  • Bench work maintaining gearboxes, valves, press tools, motors, and machine parts,
  • Planned preventive maintenance work on production machinery, conveying equipment, power presses
  • Condition monitoring work, thermography, oil sampling for analysis, vibration condition monitoring,
  • Steam generation,{additional training}
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
  • Welding/Fabrication
  • Surface grinding,
  • Panel building
  • Health and safety initiatives.

This apprenticeship will lead onto the candidate being a mechanically biased Multi Skilled Engineer working as part of an engineering maintenance in a progressive production site.

An Engineering Maintenance Technician requires the application of a complex blend of skills, knowledge and occupational behaviours across the electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power and control systems disciplines.

Training to be provided

  • L2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing (Foundation Competence).

  • L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competencies) Mechatronics Maintenance Technician.

  • L3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge).
