This is an exciting opportunity for the role of Assistant Accounts & Costings Trainee to work for a market leading manufacturing business.

Reporting directly to the Cost Accountant, Your primary tasks will be supporting the Costing’s team on a variety of day to day activities also the role will entail liaising with other departments within the business i.e. Sales, Marketing and NPI.

This is a great opportunity for a candidate to learn about Finance in Business and provides excellent first experience with the prospect of developing your skills through direct mentoring to become a key player in the Commercial Finance Department.

Principle responsibilities:
  • Product Set Up and Data Management for manufactured and purchased finished goods within the business – from raw material to saleable SKU.
  • Production of accurate product costs to support sales quotation process
  • Stock Counting and Valuation
  • Specification Change Costing and Processing
  • Financial Analysis such as Waste Report investigations
Key Deliverables:
  • Maintain accurate Bills of Materials to support accurate costs and stock usage
  • Setup saleable SKUs in a timely fashion to enable sale of new products & ranges

Training to be provided

AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting L3 which contains:
  • Advanced bookkeeping
  • Final accounts preparation
  • Management accounting: costing
  • Indirect tax
If needed, three L2 modules will be included. These are:
  • Bookkeeping controls
  • Bookkeeping transactions
  • Using accounting software (Sage 50)

The business will support you in the completion of an AAT accounting qualification.
