We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Toolmaker for a growing engineering company that manufactures precision jigs and fixtures for aerospace, oil and gas industry, automotive and medical. This is a rare opportunity to join a

Working as part of a team your tasks will be to shadow skilled Tool Makers and learn how to operate machinery ie – Milling Machines, Lathes, all aspects of fitting. Leading onto Cad and CNC work.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will gain experience in operating general tool room machinery such as centre lathes, vertical millers, grinding, CNC milling and turning.
• Use of a variety of precision measuring instruments including gauges and devices.
• Develop skills to read and understand engineering drawings and develop knowledge of design principles
• To ensure work area is clean, tidy and safe following good housekeeping
• The ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in a professional manner and at all levels within the Company.

In return the company offers:

• 37.5 hours per week, Monday– Friday
• 35 paid holidays per year.

• Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence).

• Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Toolmaker, Tool & Die Maintenence.

• Level 3 Diploma or extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge).

• Functional skills in English, Maths (if not already achieved).
