This vacancy is for an Apprentice Maintenance Engineer based in Blackburn.
Mechatronics Maintenance Technicians ensure that plant and equipment perform to the required standard to facilitate production targets regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost within High Value Manufacturing environments.
We are looking to recruit an Apprentice to join our team from September.
The training for this role will be delivered in Blackburn at Training 2000 for the first year so do bear this in–mind when you apply.
Purpose
- To design, build and deploy downstream automation equipment for the plastics manufactured products
- To reduce the requirement for manual handling
- To highlight and define opportunities for automation
Ultimate Key Roles following suitable training
- Identify requirements for automation and provide concept solutions
- Convert concepts into practical solutions by considering all aspects (costs, ROI, design etc., in conjunction with the SPE etc.) and provide presentations for proposed Capex approval
- Ability to identify requirements for automation and provide concept solutions
- To work within the Technical Department in conjunction with all other departments
- Work with the SPE to provide strategic plans for automation in the factory
- To provide regular verbal and written updates for all projects, and to provide presentations for Capex, ROI etc.
- To provide mechanical drawings of automated equipment, BOMs, electrical/electronic schematics and save these in the backed–up files
- To provide on–the–job training and recommend formal training for team members, and record progress
- To identify and communicate areas for improvement of all site activities
- Work with the SPE towards meeting deadlines, cost control, supplier liaison, communication, and cooperation with internal stakeholders
Other requirements
- Flexibility and re–prioritisation of tasks when required
- Ensure any equipment is handed over/back in a safe and hygienic state
- To ensure your working area is clean and tidy at the end of the working day
- Follow departmental procedures for holidays, absences etc.
- Adherence to all site HSE, Hygiene and Safe Working procedures and regulations
- To complete any other reasonable requests by the SPE, Automation Engineer, Technical Manager or Plant Manager
Training to be provided
To be working towards an HNC level qualification preferably in electrics and electronics
L2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing (Foundation Competence).
L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competencies) Mechatronics Maintenance Technician.
L3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge).
