Every Child Matters

Training 2000 is committed to the Every Child Matters agenda which is a shared programme of change to improve outcomes for all children and young people. It takes forward the Government’s vision of radical reform for children, young people and families.

Every Child Matters is a new approach to the well-being of children and young people from birth to age 19.

The Government's aim is for every child, whatever their background or their circumstances, to have the support they need to:

· be healthy

· stay safe

· enjoy and achieve

· make a positive contribution

· achieve economic well-being.

This means that the organisations involved with providing services to children from hospitals and schools, to police and voluntary groups  will be teaming up in new ways, sharing information and working together, to protect children and young people from harm and help them achieve what they want in life. Children and young people will have far more say about issues that affect them as individuals and collectively.

Training 2000 are continuously striving to meet the Every Child Matters priorities and all staff are receiving training to ensure they are equipped to deal with the issues around this agenda.

Our priority is to create an environment where learners feel safe and are treated with respect. We have clear policies to safeguard and protect young learners and vulnerable adults and nominated safeguarding staff. We regularly seek learners’ views to inform improvement.

Across the company we have been undertaking supporting initiatives for example our Foundation team have organised themed weeks around each of the five areas set out in the agenda. There has been a ‘Be Safe’ week and ‘Achieve Economic Wellbeing’ which was a series of interesting and informative events to help young people ensure they have everything they need to be aware of the priorities around this agenda. We have a programme of health campaigns planned throughout the year which will raise learners’ awareness of health related issues.
