Description
Health and Safety, regulations, correct use of PPE and guidelines
Safely assemble, set up and adjust welding equipment
Practice welding techniques – understand the differentials in technique required for positional welding
Identify weld defects and carry out corrective action by carrying out destructive and non destructive weld testing
Complete BS 4872 – BS 1140 weld tests
Target Group
For technicians working within the industry who are required to achieve the BSI welding accreditation in both Mig/Mag Welding and Resistance Spot Welding
Aim
A 1 day training course to prepare candidates for the welding assessments. The course is designed to develop the candidate’s practical welding skills in relation to their occupation and upon completion of the training the candidate will complete the relevant BS welding assessments
Objectives
Upon completion of the course, individuals will be able to explain and demonstrate safe assembly, set up and adjustment of welding equipment and be able to identify weld defects and carry out corrective action. Candidates will also have completed the relevant BS welding assessments. Successful candidates will be issued with a BS Weld certificate to comply with industry standards – please note that this certification is valid for a 2 year period and will be forwarded to the candidate’s employer. Candidates will also be issued with a Training 2000 certificate of attendance
