ESOL – English for Speakers of Other Languages

Description: The ESOL course is designed to help those who have very low levels of English skills.

Duration: 20 Weeks, 15 hours per week

Cost: Free if you are claiming benefits

Level: Entry

Method of Delivery: Classroom based

Entry Requirements: Must be claiming a job centre related benefit

Who is it for: Anyone who requires ESOL learning

Aim: To improve speaking, listening and writing skills

Objectives: Written work, speaking and listening objectives and work to compete during own time to support learning

Assessment: Mixed between observation and paper based assessment

Study Locations: Training 2000 sites in Blackburn and Nelson

Are you unemployed and 19 or over?

Impact 2 is aimed at people who are getting JSA/means tested benefits and would like to increase their chance of getting a job. No previous qualifications are required, but by the end of the course you will have achieved a Certificate in Skills For Further Learning and Employment.
