Modern Day Slavery Policy

1. Policy Statement

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the modern slavery and human trafficking statement for Training 2000 Ltd.

Training 2000 is committed to ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our business and supply chains. This policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls.

 

2. Scope

This policy applies to all employees of Training 2000 Ltd or those acting on behalf of the business, in any capacity including but not limited to seconded employees, agency staff, contractors or sub-contactors, volunteers, associates or consultants.

 

3. Organisation Structure

Training 2000 is an independent training provider which delivers apprenticeships and commercial training programmes across a number of industry sectors.

 

4. Our Supply Chains

Training 2000 has a number of suppliers which include:

  • Advertising
  • Agency staff
  • Apprentice employers
  • External contractors including cleaning, advisors and consultants
  • Guest speakers/lecturers
  • ICT equipment and services
  • Merchandise
  • Technical and engineering equipment

 

5. Compliance

5.1       Training 2000 has a zero tolerance approach to modern day slavery and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in our business dealings and relationships. Our aim is to implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure modern day slavery is not taking place anywhere in our business or in any of our supply chains.

5.2       The prevention, detection and reporting of modern slavery in any area of the business or in our supply chains is the responsibility of all employees who must:

  • Read, understand and comply with this policy
  • Avoid any activity which might lead to or suggest a breach of this policy
  • Notify your Manager and/or a member of the Senior Management Team as soon as possible if you believe or suspect a conflict or breach of this policy has occurred or may occur in the future

 

5.3       Training 2000 will not knowingly support or deal with any businesses found to be involved with any acts of slavery or human trafficking. We have zero-tolerance policy on matters of slavery and/or human trafficking and expect suppliers and associated businesses to comply with these values.

5.4       The vast majority of supplier of Training 2000 are from within the United Kingdom and therefore the risk associated with slavery and human trafficking is deemed to be low.

5.5       Training 2000 also has a policy for the protection of whistleblowers, to protect those raising the issue of slavery and human trafficking within the business or its suppliers.

5.6       In addition, the Safeguarding Policy is intended to provide guidance on how concerns can be communicated within the organisation. Concerns about suspected modern slavery associated with Training 2000 or its suppliers may be reported by employees in this manner.

 

6. Next Steps for the Future

The steps Training 2000 will take to increase awareness of the risks of modern slavery and trafficking are:

  • Increase staff awareness and understanding of the risks of modern slavery
  • Engage with our suppliers to convey Training 2000’s position on modern slavery
  • Introduce contractual provisions for our suppliers to confirm their adherence with this policy
  • Publish this statement on our website to clearly display Training 2000’s support to end modern slavery

 

7.Responsibility for this Policy

The Senior Management Team have ultimate responsibility for the prevention of modern slavery within the business.

Managers at all levels are responsible for ensuring those reporting to them understand and comply with this policy.

The Board has overall responsibility for ensuring that this policy and its implementations comply with our legal and ethical obligations.

 

8.Breaches of this Policy

Employees who knowingly breach this policy may face disciplinary action.

Training 2000 reserves the right to terminate the contract or relationship with individuals or organisations if they breach this policy.
