Liam Woinson, from Paradigm Precision, was shortlisted for the Engineering Construction category and Henry Clark, from Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, made it through to the Business Services Category.
Group Training Providers were only able to put one learner through per category and both of our entrants were selected as national finalists, hoping to be crowned Apprentice of the Year.
The winner will be announced on the 21st October at the GTA England Annual Conference which will be held at the prestigious headquarters of the IMechE in Westminster, London. Dinner will take place in the grand Elizabethan style Library, which has stunning views over St. James Park and Horse Guards Parade before culminating in the awards ceremony.
The Minister of State for Skills, Nick Boles, will be in attendance to present each apprentice with a Certificate of Commendation. Last year the finalists received a trip to Austria and Germany courtesy of GTA England sponsors, WNT (UK), who are sponsoring the event again, along with XYZ Engineering Tools.
Training 2000’s CEO Steve Gray said;
“Once again the high calibre of our apprentices has seen us get through to the finals of another prestigious awards event. On behalf of Training 2000 we would like to wish Liam and Henry the best of luck in this competition, they set a wonderful example to our current and new learners of what can be achieved through apprenticeships.”
