Would you like to make a difference by helping young people start on the career ladder?

If so, then we have the perfect role for you!

Training 2000 is at the heart of the Lancashire economy, developing talent and training the next generation. We are growing and an exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Employability Tutor.

If you haven’t already heard of us, we are part of the University of Central Lancashire Group and have over 50 years’ experience of delivering high quality technical and professional training programmes to industry and individuals.

We have a strong heritage, skilled workforce, state of the art facilities and above all a great team ethos. We are on a mission to deliver learning excellence and create outstanding talent for Lancashire and beyond and we firmly believe our people are our biggest asset in achieving this. Our customers are diverse and their businesses varied, from micro businesses such as Dental Practices to global companies such as Chubb.

This vacancy will be responsible for teaching the Traineeship Programmes to young people aged 16-19 years, primarily teaching Employability and Personal and Social Development skills. This will include delivering Employability, ICT skills and Personal Social Development Skills (PSD), whilst providing effective learner support. We currently deliver traineeships in engineering, business administration, dental and automotive.

We are looking for someone who holds a Certificate in Education (Level 5), a level 3 qualification in one of the above vocational areas would be desirable yet not essential.

For this role, you will receive a salary of £22,976 and a competitive benefits package. In addition, we believe in providing more than just salary and benefits and we’ll give you time and support to develop your career.  Our employability tutors continually develop themselves through internal and external training and we’re in the process of developing a learning and development strategy with dedicated CPD days to ensure our whole workforce can continually enhance their career.

To give you an idea of our benefits, we firmly believe in having a good work life balance and therefore, they include 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays. This entitlement will increase with over time to 32 days and you are also able to purchase up to 5 days extra per year. In addition to this, from the day you join, you will receive life assurance whilst employed at 4 x your annual salary. Finally, with pensions being an important part of people’s career, following 6 months service you will be entitled to enrol into our Group Private Pension scheme where we will match contributions up to 5%.

We firmly believe that everyone is unique in their own way and we are looking for people from all walks of life who will join our inclusive culture. We are committed to equality, diversity and access for all which makes Training 2000 a great place to work.

Safeguarding of our learners is at the heart of everything that we do. Therefore, due to having children (under 18’s) on our site, all appointments are subject to the receipt of a satisfactory enhanced child workforce disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS; formally the CRB), or a check via the Update Service on a relevant enhanced disclosure. Further information on these checks can be obtained from the Government website.

If this sounds like the kind of role and place for you then we are really excited to hear from you. If you’d like an informal discussion ahead of applying, please contact a member of our HR team on 01254 54659 and they will be more than happy to help.
