At the heart of the Lancashire economy, Training 2000 is seeking an outstanding individual for the post of Head of Business Development due to an internal promotion. We are part of the UCLan group and one of the largest Group Training Associations in England, with over 50 years’ experience of delivering high quality training programmes to industry and individuals.

 

The business is a large independent learning provider with a strong heritage, skilled workforce and state of the art facilities.  Training 2000 is on a mission to deliver learning excellence and creating outstanding talent for Lancashire and beyond. The Role:

The Head of Business Development, reporting into the CEO, will deliver the robust strategy for achievable growth for the business. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring there is high customer engagement in the complex stakeholder environment that we operate, and a clear customer focus within the business. Can you deliver that challenge?

 

The successful candidate will be working as part of the Senior Management Team and will deliver the strategy for achievable growth across all areas of income within the business.

 

The Head of Business Development will lead on customer engagement and will identify, create and leverage business opportunities to develop the market offering and grow our customer base.

 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering profitable expansion of solutions and product offerings within an existing business. They will have experience of business development within a service provision rather than product and will ideally have experience in multiple sectors. Although not essential, candidates with multi-sector experience that includes Engineering experience would be advantageous.  We are looking for a customer focused and driven individual who really wants to make a difference in growing and transforming a business for the future talent of Lancashire and beyond.

 

This role is open to candidates who are ready for that next step up. If you are ambitious and with the right customer focus, attitude and integrity to build this business further you will be considered. The CEO has a Business Development background and a coaching and mentoring programme can be established to support you.

Terms and Conditions:

 

This position attracts a salary of £50,000 – £55,000 and an attractive benefits package.

 

The position is based at Training 2000’s Blackburn site, but will involve an amount of travel across Lancashire in line with Business Development activities. Therefore a current driving licence and availability of a vehicle (for which mileage is paid at 40p per mile) is essential.

 

The working hours for this role are 37.5 per week working 8.00am to 4.45pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 12.30pm on Fridays, with 30 minutes unpaid lunch break Monday to Thursday.

 

To give you an idea of our benefits, we firmly believe in having a good work life balance and therefore, they include 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays. This entitlement will increase with over time to 32 days and you are also able to purchase up to 5 days extra per year. In addition to this, from the day you join, you will receive life assurance whilst employed at 4 x your annual salary.
