An important vacancy has arisen within our Engineering Department for a Higher/Further Education Tutor.

 

About the Role:

The Engineering department comprises of approximately 40 employees in total and is an integral part of the Training 2000 business. This role reports directly into the Manager of Education and Skills (FE / HE) and the direct team which this role operates within consists of 8 employees. The team are highly motivated and solutions focused and support each other to ensure the needs of the department are met.

 

This role is responsible for the delivery of both higher education and further education qualifications. The Further Education element includes the assessment of BTEC (Pearson) qualifications at Levels 2 and 3 in engineering disciplines. The Higher Education element of this role is to deliver and assess the qualifications at Levels 4 (HNC) and 5 (HND) in the engineering disciplines of Manufacturing, Design, Project Management, Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance or Electrical and Electronics.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the continuing development of the FE and HE delivery at Training 2000 as we continue to grow as part of the UCLan group. The post holder will play a fundamental part in Training 2000 achieving its strategic vision by continuously improving its teaching and learning.

 

This role is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours per week; with a flexible working requirement.

 

Main Duties:

 

  • To enable learners to be resilient, motivated and inspired to reach their personal goals and ambitions.
  • To design, develop and deliver creative, inclusive learning programmes, schemes of work, lesson plans and materials to deliver high quality structured learning sessions to meet learners’ needs and programme specifications.
  • To contribute to the internal verification, assessment and standardisation of work and to the development and delivery of the SAR and the QIP in the pursuit of continuous improvement towards excellence.
  • To maintain accurate and up to date learner tracking records that meet company requirements and external specifications, and to provide information regarding learners progress and achievements, and take effective steps where learners require support in order to reach their full potential.
  • To effectively manage the delivery environment to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all learners and to follow guidance in effectively contributing to the management of Training 2000’ internal systems and procedures.
  • To embrace the concept of Training 2000’ ambitions that all members of its community are lifelong learners which includes continuous professional development.
  • To effectively manage the personal development, behaviours and welfare of learners which leads to them becoming good citizens and members of the community.

 

 

Requirements:

Applicants must hold an Engineering qualification relevant to one or more of the abovementioned engineering disciplines. They must also hold a professional teaching qualification at a minimum of level 5, or the achievement of a level 5 within a twelve month period.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate highly developed innovative inspiring teaching skills.

 

Benefits:

 

This position attracts a salary of £29,290 per annum with a supplementary payment for the role of £4,210 per annum making the total package £33,500 per annum
