An important opportunity has arisen within the Company’s Engineering department for a:

Apprenticeship Training Officer Manager


About the Role:


This role will be based from Training 2000’s site in Blackburn and will be permanent role.


The role is accountable for effectively planning, communicating, implementing, and leading the Engineering Apprenticeship Training Officer Team. Responsible for driving quality improvements, implementing Apprenticeship Reforms and planning the transition across to new apprenticeship standards.


The role-holder will ensure that Training Officers, together with Support functions staff, understand, take ownership for, and are measured & rewarded against their apprenticeship achievement, apprenticeship starts & financial performance targets.


Main Duties:


  • Develop and implement a cross centre Apprenticeship Strategy (including income generation targets) ensuring that actions are effectively planned and communicated to both internal and external stakeholders


  • Be accountable on a daily basis for all work based learning, ensuring achievement & delivery of target performance results, quality standards, effective time-tabling, student retention and market-relevant course provision


  • Continuously drive innovation & adaptation within a fast-changing marketplace, including ensuring that the organisation structure and staffing are able to deliver high quality provision


  • Work with colleagues from across Training 2000 to prepare tenders to secure new apprenticeship business in response to Apprenticeship funding reforms



  • To effectively manage the Quality Assurance process of qualifications in line with awarding organisation specifications and standards in order to continuously improve the learner journey.


  • To professionally liaise and work with all key stakeholders involved in the learning process to ensure full integration, support and promotion of the company’s services.



  • To lead and drive performance management within the Engineering Team though strong leadership and focus.






The position requires a self-motivated and effective team player who possesses excellent communication and organisational skills.


A full UK driving license is essential as you will be driving to employer locations.


A relevant assessing qualification and previous assessing experience is advantageous but not essential as full training will be provided for this role.


Applicants MUST have completed a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
