Learner Profile: Pia

Pia, 22 from Burnley came to Training 2000 as a Business Apprentice after completing her A-Levels at College.

She began as an apprentice at Training 2000 as a HSE Administrator. Pia has completed her Level 2 and Level 3 in Business which has given her the skills and knowledge to work in an environment like Training 2000 but has also enabled her to progress towards a career in the Health and Safety Industry.

Following her Apprenticeship, Pia became a full time member of staff and is now a HSE Trainee. This involve dealing with HSE queries from staff and contacting external employees about health and safety. In order to progress, Pia then started a Level 3 SHE Technician Apprenticeship course which she has almost finished. She is just waiting to begin her End Point Assessment which includes a project, professional discussion and an exam.

Taking this course has allowed Pia to become a member of IOSH which is the institution of safety and health. As a member, she also has to complete on an ongoing basis, her CPD which again helps to develop her skills in Health and Safety.

"Once I have completed my Level 3 SHE Technician apprenticeship, I am looking to progress further. This qualification will allow me to become a Technician member of IOSH and allow me to progress to Level 5 which my manager is keen to support me in. Once I have passed Level 3 my job title will change to Health and Safety Advisor for Training 2000. My future aspiration is for me to become a graduate member of IOSH and build my training to better myself as in this sector"
