Peter Benson Plywood Fork Lift Truck Training

Based in the heart of East Lancashire, Peter Benson Plywood is a family-run business with training and development as its heart.

The specialist timber merchant currently employs nine staff, four of whom are undertaking an NVQ Level 2 in Plant Operations through Training 2000.

As part of the 4-month course, learners complete Fork Lift Truck training, which delivers a comprehensive understanding of safe working practices to ensure competent operators.

John Guy, director and general manager at PB Plywood, said: “I cannot express highly enough just how fantastic Training 2000 has been to work with.

“Having initially found their services online, they’ve strived to develop a training programme that’s bespoke to our business and aims to prevent any loss in productivity and performance.”

To ensure minimal disruption, the Fork Lift Truck training was condensed into four working days, which was delivered on-site at the firm’s warehouse facility in Darwen, Lancashire.

With a raft of health and safety legislation relating to fork lift truck operation, Training 2000 is RTITB and NORS approved and instructors boast more than 20 years’ experience.

John continued: “As a small firm, our employees get stuck into any task, which is why it’s vital that staff members obtain the necessary skills to ensure they’re versatile, competent independent workers.

“I knew the type of training I wanted and Training 2000 was able to accommodate these needs by delivering suitable courses.

“Like your typical small business, I wear a number of hats and having assistance from the talented team at Training 2000 enables me to concentrate my efforts elsewhere, whilst providing peace of mind that our employees receive the best training.

“Due to the nature of our business, all new employees must receive any necessary training, whilst providing existing staff with refresher courses to ensure skills remain relevant and up-to-date. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Training 2000 to deliver any further training requirements and would recommend their services to those looking to maintain a skilled workforce and ultimately boost their business.”
