Many different people have benefitted from our training across a range of courses. Please see below for some of our success stories.
Tom Flack - Accounts
Tom Flack, 24, from Preston has found the solution to his career conundrum, he has gained multiple skills by dividing his time between working and learning, adding a little help from Training 2000 and it equals a successful career in accounting.
After initially embarking on the traditional route of studying for his A Levels, Tom soon realised that full time education was not for him. At 18 Tom decided to begin an Apprenticeship so he could combine learning with gaining hands on experience, as well as earning a wage.
Former Training 2000 Apprentice of the Year, Tom gained a Business Administration NVQ with the Lancashire training provider when he was 18, before progressing onto an AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification whilst working at NCO Europe Ltd, studying part-time in the evening.
An Apprenticeship offered Tom the unique combination of work-based learning and hands-on industry experience, which equipped him with the valuable skills and knowledge that employers value. Whilst the AAT Accounting Qualification provided him with the skills to do a wide range of accounting and finance jobs, ultimately giving him the ability to embark on his dream career.
Tom says: “I believe that the AAT qualification and the help and support I received from Training 2000 have benefited my career progression. I now have the relevant qualifications as well as a wealth of experience. I have managed to build up my knowledge of both the theory and the practical aspects of the job.
“I would recommend doing an Apprenticeship to anyone who is considering a career in accounting, it is a real alternative to the traditional route that many of my colleagues have taken.”
Tom is now working as an assistant financial accountant at Preston based company Places for People, where he has been for over two years.
Sheila White [insert job title], worked closely with Tom throughout his training and comments: “Tom has done so well throughout his training. It has been a real pleasure to watch him develop his accountancy skills and knowledge of the industry and apply it in the work place. He has really worked hard in all of his training and exams and the Apprenticeship programme has clearly paid off for him. I am certain that Tom will make an excellent accountant and will go far in his chosen career.”
