Case Studies & Testimonials

Many different people have benefitted from our training across a range of courses. Please see below for some of our success stories.

Daniel Little - Construction

Daniel Little, 22, from Preston is well on his way to his dream career as an Industrial Heating Engineer thanks to some great qualifications and steely determination to succeed. Currently studying for an NVQ Level 3 at Lancashire based training provider, Training 2000, Daniel has literally, really gone the distance.

Originally commuting one day a week to Lancashire from Carlisle for his NVQ Level 2 in Heating and Ventilation, Daniel was struggling to cover the range of work needed for his evidence portfolio. On reflection of his position, Daniel made the decision to look for work closer to college and move away from his family home.

Having secured a job with Preston based, James Mercer Group Ltd, Daniel was then able to continue with his NVQ Level 2, achieving an outstanding achievement award for the quality of his work submitted for the qualification.

Daniel comments: “It was a big step for me leaving my friends and family to move somewhere new on my own, but I was dead set on achieving my NVQ. I was able to rent a room close to my new job and from there I was able to get my head down and concentrate on getting my evidence portfolio into shape.

“It was great to see that my portfolio work paid off and the hard work and effort I put in was recognised.”

Daniel is currently studying for his NVQ Level 3 in Heating and Ventilation and is progressing well ahead of his target completion date of July 2010.

Richard Calvert, Career Development Adviser at Training 2000 commented: “Daniel’s skills have gone from strength to strength, and the work he produces is of the highest quality.

“He has faced some tough challenges along his journey, yet his effort and determination to succeed have always shone through. He is 100% proactive towards obtaining his goals and has excelled in work-based learning.

“Daniel’s employers, and tutors are delighted with his progression, he is a pleasure to work with and definitely a true star of the future!”

Daniel concludes: “I’ve got a great job and I am working hard to progress my career further. I would definitely recommend work-based training to other young people, I have learnt and gained so much along my journey.”
