Training 2000 Event Connects Young People with their Future

Training 2000 Event Connects Young People with their Future Hundreds of local students attended Training 2000’s Apprenticeship event in Blackburn last week. Held to inform young people of the Apprenticeship options available to them following their GCSE’s this summer, the event was held at Training 2000’s Harwood Street site.

The event, which enabled young people to speak to current learners and meet prospective employers such as Rolls Royce, Fort Vale, Aircelle and Bateman and Best Dental Practice, showcased the range of Apprenticeships available through the training provider.

Alan Emerton, Works Training Manager at Burnley-based Fort Vale Engineering said: “It's a busy time of year for recruitment at Fort Vale and this type of event enables us to find suitable apprentices to maintain our multi-skilled workforce.

“The quality of the young people I have met at the event has been very high this year.”

Steve Gray, Chief Executive at Training 2000 said: “We hope that through our Apprenticeship event we can help young people to make their first big decision towards their future careers.

“I would like to thank the employers who were on-hand at the event to offer guidance and support to the young people. They are a key aspect of the Apprenticeship process, providing paid employment for our apprentices during their training, and their presence at the event was very beneficial to the young people attending.

“I would remind all young people that it is never too soon to start to think about their next step and the more information they have, the easier it is to make a decision that’s right for them.”

Training 2000 offers Apprenticeships in Automotive, Business Administration, Construction, Dental, Engineering and Health and Social Care providing a variety of courses from nursing and accounting to welding and vehicle body building.
