Lancashire Businesses Seek Young Talent

Training 2000 is urging young people get ahead and start thinking about their career choices before this summer’s GCSEs. To help inform them of the options available and give them an insight into the world of work, the Blackburn based training provider is holding an Apprenticeship event on Thursday 11th February, 5.30 – 8.00pm at its Blackburn campus on Harwood Street, Furthergate Business Park.

The event will provide an opportunity for young people and their parents to speak to current and prospective employers, with Training 2000 staff on-hand to discuss the range of Apprenticeships available within different sectors.

Companies including Rolls Royce, Fort Vale, Aircelle, Balfour Beatty, Bateman and Best Dental Practice, will be exhibiting at the event and will be able to answer questions and provide information about the types of careers that can be accessed through an Apprenticeship.

Students will also be given the opportunity to get involved with interactive activities and will be able to tour the site to learn about the different Apprenticeship sectors available.

Steve Gray, Chief Executive at Training 2000 said: “Our Apprenticeship event marks the beginning of an important time within many young people’s academic lives. Decisions about their future are looming and it’s essential that they are equipped with the necessary information and advice to help them make the right choice.

“The event provides a great opportunity to learn about the types of careers that can be accessed through an Apprenticeship. The presence of our partner employers provides students with an invaluable opportunity to meet with the types of companies that provide paid employment for our apprentices during their training.”

Training 2000 offers courses in Automotive, Business Administration, Construction, Dental, Engineering and Health and Social Care providing a variety of courses from nursing and accounting to welding and vehicle body
