LANCASHIRE TRAINING PROVIDER JOIN PREMIER IN PLEDGE Jan 09

Following Gordon Brown’s recent announcement around the increased funding for the Apprenticeship programme, local training provider Training 2000 is holding a series of jobs event on Thursday 5 February at their Nelson site, Thursday 12th February at their Blackburn site and Thursday 26th February at their Blackpool site between 5.30pm and 8.30pm, to showcase the Apprenticeship opportunities available to young people across Lancashire.

With the Prime Minister’s commitment to fund an additional 35,000 Apprenticeships, Training 2000 is rising to the Premier’s pledge and encouraging young people to embrace the programme that enables participants to ‘learn whilst they earn’.

Facing a global economic downturn, it is increasingly important that young people take all opportunities to make themselves as employable as possible by improving and adding to their skills. The Apprenticeship programme is the ideal solution for young people looking to get into a job where they are constantly learning and developing – standing them in good stead for a great career and a brighter future.

Training 2000’s jobs event is the perfect forum for young people to find out more about the Apprenticeship programme, available in subject areas ranging from Healthcare and Dental to Business and Construction. Tutors will be on hand to provide detailed information about the courses available and attendees will also have the chance to talk to local employers about the opportunities available within their organisations.

Steve Gray, Chief Executive at Training 2000 comments: “At Training 2000, we are committed to seeing the young people of Lancashire reach their full potential and would urge them to think about their future career.”

Agreeing with Gordon Brown, Steve concludes: “Apprenticeships are a key way for young people to continue learning, especially during this downturn – contributing to a UK workforce that is world class and equipped to meet demands when the good times return.”
