Four apprentices have entered the World Skills UK competition Heats this week, in a task that covered all aspects of fabrication and welding.
Creating a crane station, they had to manage each assembly process throughout, followed by the completion of the final fit-up and tack weld.
Taking seven-and-a-half hours in total, the completed pieces were then taken away by the judge, who will check them against the engineering drawing for accuracy.
We will find out how they got on at a later date – good look to all of them!
