Background and training programmes

Training 2000 is a charitable trust set up by a consortium of Lancashire businesses and is now one of the largest Group Training Associations in England, with over 40 years' experience of delivering high quality work-based learning and training programmes to industry and individuals. We have grown to more than 250 staff and 6 centres across the North West and other areas of the UK, working with national employers across a wide range of sectors, whilst maintaining local support.

Whether we are delivering training & consultancy at our clients' premises or at one of our 6 sites, our goal is always to produce the best possible outcome for our customer. Working as a business partner we design bespoke programmes which assist them to succeed in their chosen field.

By showing a return on your investment we aim to build a long term relationship in partnership with your business. In addition, we work hard to raise funding and offer you access to grants which ensure your training budget goes a lot further.

Our Apprenticeships:

We are well-known for our Apprenticeships in Automotive, Business, Construction, Dental, Engineering and Healthcare.

Work-based learning provides an effective and flexible approach which lessens the impact on resources and allows businesses to concentrate on their day to day challenges.

At our latest Ofsted inspection in 2011 we achieved six Outstanding Grade Ones. We achieved Grade 1 in Capacity to Improve, Quality of Provision, Leadership and Management and Safeguarding. We also achieved Grade 1 in Engineering & Manufacturing Technologies, (which includes all our Engineering and Automotive programmes), and also in Health, Public Services and Care (which includes all our Dental Nursing and Health and Social Care programmes).

We also achieved Grade 2 in Overall Effectiveness, Outcomes for Learners, Equality and Diversity, Construction and Foundation Learning.

Quality

At the end of 2008 we achieved the Training Quality Standard (TQS) Part A for the organisation and part B for Engineering. We have since also received Part B for Healthcare and Automotive. We were the first Work-based Learning provider in Lancashire to achieve this certification which is an assessment framework designed to recognise and celebrate the best organisations delivering training and development solutions to employers.

We were also awarded accreditation to ISO14001 in May 2009, which is the first step towards continual improvement of our environmental performance.

Conference Centre

Training 2000 also has a Conference and Exhibition Centre at our Nelson site which offers a business environment to hold conferences, meetings, events and training days. The centre boasts a 100 seat lecture theatre, large exhibition hall, boardroom, and several meeting/training rooms of varying sizes.
